Using, cleaning and maintaining your Faber hood

Here’s how to get the most out of your Faber hood and keep it looking good for years to come

USING YOUR HOOD

Switch your hood on a minute or so before you start cooking. This creates a flow of air ready to carry steam and odours towards the suction inlet.

Generally speaking, low fan speeds are all you need for small volumes of steam and odour, from cooking pasta and sauces for example.

Use higher fan speeds to deal with the larger volumes of steam and odour produced by frying or grilling, or when you need to prepare a number of dishes at the same time.

If necessary, leave the hood on for a while after you finish cooking, until steam and odour have been completely eliminated.

KEEPING YOUR FILTERS EFFICIENT

Efficient filters mean an efficient hood.

  • Every 2 months*, wash the metal grease filters by hand or in a dishwasher.
  • Change the synthetic grease filters every 2 months.
WARNING! Greasy filters are a fire hazard. That’s why proper maintenance is so important!
  • Replace the odour filters every 3 months* (filtering hoods only).

*These intervals refer to normal hood usage of around 3 hours a day.

CLEANING YOUR HOOD

  • Clean your hood with a sponge damped in soapy water. Only use neutral* soap!
  • Rinse with a damp cloth.
  • Wipe your hood dry with a soft cloth. If your hood has a surface in brushed stainless steel, wipe in the direction of the brushing.
  • Clean the duct inside the hood once a year.

*Acidic cleaning products can damage the surface of your hood.
