Faber will be showing off its most innovative hoods at the Milan exhibition from 3 to 9 April and putting on a series of workshops dedicated to Fabriano’s traditional hand-made paper, hosted by master paper maker Sandro Tiberi.
Milan, March 2017 – Faber will be bringing the great traditions of Fabriano paper making to Fuorisalone with the event Faber Art Matter: the power of aspiration and inspiration. Faber has its roots in the Marche region of Italy, and in particular in the town of Fabriano, famous for prestigious hand-made paper. While its most original and exclusive hoods are on display at the Milan exhibition, Faber will be offering visitors to Fuorisalone a chance to see how Fabriano paper is made, and perhaps even create their very own paper, assisted by master paper maker Sandro Tiberi.
This fascinating Fuorisalone event will run from 3 to 9 April, in the Classroom area of Via Tortona 30, and will consist of a series of public workshops, including some for children.
From Monday to Sunday visitors will be able to join Maestro Tiberi in two daily workshops, one at lunchtime and one mid-afternoon, as he demonstrates how to use a traditional pulp tub, press and dryer to produce the hand-made paper for which the town of Fabriano is so famous.
At 11:00 and 16:00 on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9, Sandro Tiberi will hold special edutainment workshops entitled “Blank paper, bright colours” for children to learn the history of paper making and how to turn pulp into their very own sheets of paper to take home as mementos. These workshops are free but require registration. To register, simply send an e-mail to info@kwordsmilano.it.
On Friday 7 (17:30) and Saturday 8 (12:30; 20:30), Roberta Gagliardini, a young artist from the Marche region will create live paintings on a special type of paper made for her by Sandro Tiberi.
