“Cucine di confine” is the name of the exclusive set-up prepared in June by Elle Decor with the iconic furnishings of today’s and yesterday’s kitchens, to create imaginary settings rich in contaminating elements, poised between art, elements from the cinema world and references to habits from countries near and far. The black and white kitchen (homage to Fellini’s La Dolce Vita) is illuminated by Arkea, Faber’s F-light hood that uses the exclusive up&down technology to mechanically descend over the hob, creating a special chromotherapy effect with its colours.
Frida Khalo’s Mexico, with its merry rhythms and colours, Morocco with a visual reproduction of the tea ritual, China, in which china pieces suspended from transparent threads bring to mind the most evocative films of the Rising Sun, or the Fifties mood that lights up the display stand dedicated to the United States – these are but a few of the “Cucine di confine” display stands prepared in June by Elle Decor Italia, the monthly magazine dedicated to design and home furnishing.
Curated by Elisa Ossino Studio, the set-up in Piazza Duomo in Milan developed over 8 display stands to be viewed in sequence, studied to bring to mind the ritual of food preparation and sharing in kitchens. Each display stand was dedicated to one of the countries in the Expo 2015, specifically Mexico, China, Morocco, India, United States, France, Japan and Italy of course.
The Italian display stand exhibited a black and white stage, set between dream and design. Art by Fellini and Fornasetti met in the display stand characterised by artists’ plates and hot-air balloons. In the centre of this perfect design was Arkea, the hood of Faber’s F-light line. It has a double function – in addition to being a high-performing hood, it is a lamp with chromotherapy effect. Its warm, powerful light illuminates the room through all colour tones. It is a truly unique model, the unchallenged star in every kitchen setting, also thanks to the exclusive up&down technology that can be used to calibrate the distance from the hob as needed.
