New Galileo Range: the futuristic evolution of hob extractors

In an era where open-plan kitchens dominate contemporary interior design and hob extractors are gaining popularity across Europe, Faber presents the renewed Galileo range: a generation of hobs with integrated extraction that eliminate all visual and functional clutter. Launched in two distinct phases — between September 2025 and the first half of 2026 — this line represents an evolutionary leap from the classic Galileo models, expressed through versatile models such as Ring and Slim Ring, Wide, Turn, Shadow, Double Black, and Pure Black.

Through close observation of the range's models, this article explores how the Fabriano brand is redefining aesthetics and performance for minimalist worktops, discovering how the improvements introduced elevate the kitchen air quality experience to a new frontier of Made in Italy style and functionality.

NEW GALILEO FABER: NINE PILLARS FOR LEADERSHIP

This Galileo range does not represent a simple update, but a complete revolution of the Faber hob platform, built on the consolidated strengths of the previous range and enriched with radical improvements in functionality, user experience, and aesthetic refinement.

Developed through nine functional pillars that guide every aspect of the project – from optimised extraction to invisible controls, through intelligent space recovery – this collection expands the expressive possibilities for every cooking style and living configuration through a versatile series of solutions that satisfy every preference.

GALILEO RING: THE TRAILBLAZER OF EVOLUTION

At 83 cm wide, Galileo Ring represents the ultimate expression of power and style in the initial phase of the range. Faber moves away from traditional rectangular or circular extraction schemes to introduce a slim, long, and slender grille that captures vapours with superior efficiency, maintaining a clean and continuous cooking surface. The compact central motor and the completely redesigned internal layout recover precious space in the cabinet below, transforming what was once a sacrificed compartment into a functional drawer for utensils and spices.

The Intensive Speed function, active for 6 minutes, eliminates intense odours at source, while the four induction zones with two Bridge Zones and the all-new round inductors guarantee uncompromising flexibility, from Asian wok to roasting pan. The touch controls with red digits faithfully replicate the layout of the zones and the extraction system, offering a clear and immediately intuitive interface.

GALILEO SLIM RING: EFFICIENCY IN COMPACT FORM

Also available from September 2025, in its compact 60 cm dimension, Galileo Slim Ring showcases the same forward-thinking approach as the Ring in an essential profile, ideal for contemporary linear kitchens or design studio apartments. Here, the renewed grilles and optimised motor not only improve airflow but drastically reduce noise, creating an acoustic comfort worthy of a professional kitchen. Its calibrated footprint preserves operational space in the cabinet, while maintaining the full power expressed by its larger counterpart.

NEW GALILEO RANGE: THE INNOVATIONS THAT DEFINE EXCELLENCE

The technological innovations that define the second phase of the Galileo range lie in a series of targeted upgrades that elevate previous standards with tangible, practical benefits:

Redesigned extraction grilles — Airflow optimised by 30% vs traditional flush grilles – vapours eliminated at source, no more condensation on cabinets.

Anti-grease filter — Removable in 10 seconds without tools, dishwasher-safe – no more complicated disassembly, maintenance done in 2 minutes.

Top-access purifying filters — Direct access without moving the hob, perfect air recirculation even without external ducting.

Double-valve tank — Fast and safe emptying with 0.5 L capacity, eliminates overflow incidents for stress-free cleaning.

NG central motor — High performance +20% with reduced vertical footprint, 25 cm cabinet below for food processors and utensils.

PHASE 2: THE COMPOSITIONAL FREEDOM OF GALILEO WIDE

Presented at Milan Design Week 2026 at the Franke Flagship Store in Brera, Galileo Wide (83 cm, A+ class) represents Faber's evolution of hob extractors. With nine power levels plus Boost on all four zones (total power 2.5–7.4 kW), it expands the cooking surface while leaving room for creativity in contemporary open-plan spaces. Two large octagonal Flexi Zones accommodate pots of every size, while the frameless design eliminates borders, with a matt black Ceran finish resistant to stains and scratches. NextGen central waterproof motor at 720 m³/h, Ghost Single Slider with white digits, and express maintenance (top-access filters, anti-overflow tank).

THE PREMIUM MODELS OF THE RANGE: MINIMALISM AND POWER

Introduced over the spring 2026 months, these four jewels in A+ class with powerful extraction and silence at 59 dB elevate Faber's minimalism through premium finishes and invisible controls.

Galileo Turn stands out for its ultra-minimal frameless design with a manual flap that completely conceals the grille when not in use, preserving the clean lines

of the surface. (extraction capacity 700 m³/h), capturing vapours at source; two flexi zones, ghost multi-slider controls with white digits, and 7.4 kW total – perfect for essential and invisible worktops.

Galileo Shadow brings discreet elegance in premium matt black glass (~660 m³/h = robust extraction for intense fumes without diffusion), ghost multi-slider interface with two flexi zones and white digits for a sober and efficient result.

Galileo Double Black dares with bold red digits on premium matt black glass (720 m³/h = maximum power that eliminates odours before they spread), two flexi zones, ghost multi-slider controls for power and refined elegance.

Galileo Pure Black embodies absolute simplicity in pure matt black (720 m³/h = range-leading extraction for always-pure air), two flexi zones, ghost single slider, and red digits for ultimate minimalist versatility.

CONCLUSIONS

The new Galileo range marks a turning point for Faber kitchen hoods, combining cutting-edge extraction, minimalist design, and premium cooking in a revolutionary platform. From the solid foundations of Phase 1 — Ring and Slim Ring — to the aesthetic expansion of Phase 2 –  with the versatile Wide and other recent models —  this series of hob extractors confirms the Fabriano brand once again as an essential reference in offering tailored solutions that masterfully combine charm and performance.
